Account deletion

Delete your CognaBright account

You can ask CognaBright to delete your account and the data associated with it using the form on this page. You don't need to be signed in, and you don't need the app installed.

This page applies to CognaBright accounts for families, support people and organisation staff, and to the data linked to those accounts.

Deleting data inside the CognaBright app

Deleting a whole CognaBright account is done by request, using the form on this page. Inside the app, a parent or account holder can also permanently delete all data for an individual child at any time:

  1. Sign in to CognaBright.
  2. Open Profile and choose the child.
  3. In Privacy and deletion, select Delete all data for that child.
  4. Review the information shown, then confirm.

This removes that child's data only. Your Parent account, Family workspace and subscription stay available. To delete your whole account, use the request form on this page.

Request account deletion

Use this form if you can't access the app, have uninstalled it, or want your whole account deleted. Enter the email address you use to sign in to CognaBright.

Fields marked * are required.

The email address linked to your CognaBright account.

Optional. Please don't include your password, security codes, or any information about a child.

We use these details only to handle your request. We may contact you at this email address to confirm that the request came from the account holder before anything is deleted.

What happens when your account is deleted

When we process a deletion request from a family account holder, CognaBright permanently deletes:

  • each child profile in your Family workspace, together with everything recorded for that child, including routines, goals and micro-goals, progress records, logs and evidence, messages, reports, rewards, uploaded files and organisation connections;
  • your Family workspace, including its conversations, Session Companion profiles and Care-team connections.

Your sign-in is also permanently disabled, so the account can no longer be used. Deletion cannot be undone, so keep a copy of anything you need before you ask us to delete your account.

If you were invited into someone else's Family workspace, deleting your account ends your own access. It does not delete that Family workspace or its children's data, which stay under the control of the family's account holder.

Subscriptions are cancelled separately

Deleting your CognaBright account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. To avoid further charges, cancel your subscription with the platform you subscribed through before you request deletion:

  • App Store: manage subscriptions in your Apple account settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Google Play: manage subscriptions in the Google Play Store app, under Payments and subscriptions.
  • CognaBright website: cancel through the billing platform you subscribed with, or contact us and we'll help.

Refunds are handled according to the policies of the platform you subscribed through, as described in our subscription terms.

Information we may need to keep

After your account is deleted, we may keep a limited amount of information where we need it, such as:

  • a minimal record of your sign-in identity, such as your email address, kept with sign-in permanently disabled so that security and audit records remain accurate;
  • administrative records showing that the deletion took place;
  • records of purchases and subscription transactions needed for financial, accounting and tax obligations;
  • information needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or keep CognaBright secure.

We keep this information only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes, as described in our privacy notice. Payment platforms such as Apple and Google keep their own purchase records under their own policies.

Organisation accounts

If you use CognaBright as a member of an organisation, you can use this form to request deletion of your own account. Client and workspace records managed by your organisation are controlled by that organisation, and families control their own data.

A request from an organisation staff member cannot delete a family's workspace or another person's data. If you are an organisation administrator and want to close your organisation's account, please contact us.

Questions and support
